Gaiking: Legend of Daiky Maryu
Colored my portfolio sketch of Gaiking, the original can be found here: [link]
The background was fun to do. Started off with a pair of gradients, then painted in the clouds and lighting using my cloud and sparkle custom brushes. I had a different background plate made using the same gradients, and used the Lens Flare filter to see what the effect looked like, then recreated the look with my own brushes.
The whole coloring job probably took close to 10 hours, spread over the better part of this week. Gotta rest those eyes (and cool off that computer
)!
