Last Saturday, I attended a sketch and signing event in National Bookstore in the Trinoma mall, featuring the artists from Sketchpad Studios. It was a fun event, and quite a number of people were there to get sketches done of their favorite characters. There was a surprising lack of Suckerpunch requests though...
Anyway, I got to have a sketch of Amantha done by my good friend, . I'm really starting to build a collection of Variable Edge sketches done by other artists, and I'm enjoying seeing their different interpretations of my designs. Sometimes, I even get to see hints of things I can do to improve on my own work!
Unfortunately, the piece I had for reference didn't have a good, clear view of the outfit Amantha was wearing, so I encouraged Max-C to come up with her own outfit. Since it's almost the summer season here in the Philippines, she gave Amantha this cute bikini top! I guess this means having a beach story's not out of the question now...!
The original sketch was on 11 x 13 paper, which was a bit too long for the bag I had at the time, so it got a little crumpled. I'm in the process of keeping it flattened in storage so it could be kept relatively safe.
